Hayden LaCelle Does Tech SP Statement of Gender Inclusivity and Fighting Against Targeted Hate

Today, January 20th, 2025, is a day and beginning of constant fear, frustration, and concern for those who identify as women, transgender, gender non-conforming, or a variant of.

The livelihoods of these groups are threatened by discriminatory, exclusionary, and harmful rhetoric by the newly re-elected President Donald Trump and his allies.

In the tech community, an area where these groups are already underrepresented, and beyond, we all must make an effort to not only welcome these groups with open arms, but also understand their struggles and needs in the work we all do, and do what we can to fight against exclusionary practices targeting these individuals.

Everyone has a right to feel safe and in control of their own being. This statement from Hayden LaCelle Does Tech SP is meant to serve as a reminder that no matter how someone identifies, they absolutely deserve to be welcomed and included in the public space.

Unfortunately, with public threats against these groups expected to rise and become more targeted -- we all must do our part to publicly accept these groups of individuals into our communities, and fight against any and all hate, within and outside of our community.
